I don’t have a lot of hope for America nor do I believe its citizens are in a position to undo what’s underway. I think the golden age we’ll enter won’t be to the majority’s liking and widening inequality and erosion of safety nets foretell a period of suffering and tumult. I think we’ll have less freedom, more restrictions and lots of monitoring. I expect our quality of life, happiness and mental health to experience similar blows.
When you don’t have many options the worst is better than none. If you’re hungry and they offer communism as a solution you’ll take it and the same applies to socialism.

Absolutely not. It has never worked and over 100 million people have died under it. In the end, you run out of other people's money to use.

Unfortunately you could be correct. Hopefully some people will educate the public the about 27 times Communism-Socialism has been tried and failed. And the millions and millions of people who have died because of it....
Some say one if the most importantly points is that these philosophies do not work with human nature. Its like thinking all people will sacrifice things like their money, their food, their shelter, their homes, their clothes, their children, their water, the ambition, their advancement, their health, their well being, their pleasure, their safety, their fun, and their etc for all other people. And giving that control, power and decision making to bias people in the government. And giving the decision to bias people in the government to determine who lives and who dies.

I don’t support either party and could be considered apolitical. I prefer capitalism and socially speaking, it’s more of a moral compass than a commitment to any position.

It is the authoritarian dictatorial model of communism or socialism that is so negative. The authoritarian dictatorial model of capitalism is just as negative, or even more so. It is taking control from the votes of the people and ceding it to callous amoral leaders who do not have our best interests at heart.
Our government in its current form and its current leadership is every bit as vulnerable to abuse of power as the communism and socialism you describe.

Because, like communism and socialism, the neoliberalism being pushed here is an authoritarian economic system and not really distinguishable from socialism and communism in any way except by who holds the power.
