I did say that. My point is let's wait and see if this peace deal can be maintained.
The peace deal faces a potential derailment because the M23 rebel group, was not part of the agreement and most likely continuing its military operations.

They won't be engraving a trophy in Oslo any time soon.

Once again, Trump brokered a "peace" deal to get a "piece" of the action--a mining deal for rare earth minerals in the Congo.

Many Congolese see it mainly as an opportunity for the U.S. to acquire critical minerals needed for much of the world’s technology after their government reached out to Trump for support in fighting the rebels.

Trump has pushed to gain access to such minerals at a time when the United States and China are actively competing for influence in Africa.

I look for the primary truth. He has no interest in Africa, only the rare earth minerals he can get from promising them a wee bit of help. What makes me think that? Well for starters, USAID, which received 90% of its funding from the federal government, shut its doors yesterday. This is expected to result in millions of lost lives in Africa and the third world, as HIV prevention, vaccinations, and even food assistance will disappear. That's a whole lot more lives lost then the damage a bunch of machetes can do.
The work done by usaid help to prevent the growth of terrorism, the kind of terrorism that caused the Congolese War. It also prevented China from making vastin Rose into Africa. But the current president thinks only about lining his pockets, forgetting his pledge to the Constitution, to the American people, and for the good of the world

Let's be absolutely clear that the study linked in your article is stating what "could" happen; not what "did" happen, and not even what "will" happen.
