"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,'' Trump proclaimed in a social media post, adding that the truce would take effect in about six hours after both parties have completed military missions.

Thank you President Trump!

It would be much more common and expected practice for both Israel and Iran (the two primary entities involved) to independently confirm any ceasefire agreement. At the very least, a confirmation from Israel would be crucial for such an announcement to be considered credible and official from the perspective of the direct parties. Lets wait-and-see .

A cease fire is great, but now comes the most difficult job for President Trump and that is working out the problems so the cease fire can last.

I haven’t seen any confirmation from Iran thus far. Bibi told Israeli’s to prepare for a long war yesterday. But there’s a report that he sent a note to mediators regarding a cease fire. Whether it lasts is the bigger question. We’ve seen this before many times. But what differs today is the issue with their weapons (and ours) and the materials they need that China won’t release and the threat of closing the Strait of Hormuz. I think that forced the issue in spite of the strikes. A surge in crude oil prices plus denial for passage probably did it. That’s why there’s no talk of regime change and assassinations anymore.

Many commentators are asking where’s the uranium. I don’t think it was there and Medvedev (former Prime Minister of Russia and current Chief of the Security Council) acknowledged that Iran could get the nuclear warheads from other countries. At the end of the day they’ll have it eventually.

No regime change??

What a letdown.
That's up to the people. Our concern, and the concern of the world, is terrorism. Regime change or not there will still be radical Islamists.

No regime change??

What a letdown.

If the Iranian people want now seems their best opportunity to rise up and overthrow this government.

It can be done by them I would think at this point.

Trump may have proclaimed it.
But has Iran or Israel?

Iran’s foreign minister says that Tehran will stop its attacks if Israel stops its airstrikes by 4 a.m. local time.

The comment by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi marks the first official remarks from Iran to US President Donald Trump’s claimed ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Araghchi sends message on the social platform X at 4:16 a.m. Tehran time.

“As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” Araghchi writes. “However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.”

Araghchi adds: “The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”

Of course they try and save as much face as possible. That's how it was for their recent attack, they claimed since the U.S. fired missiles they would launch an equivalent number.

"Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was “set free,” because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their “system,” and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE. I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Do you think the same isn’t true for Israel? Have you seen their country? There’s more the $500 billion dollars worth of infrastructure damage not to mention the money they spent on their defense. Their dwindling supplies were already reported and they couldn’t counter everything coming in. It would force them to prioritize some assets over others which could lead to higher casualties.

America was in a similar position weapons wise and if you look at the discussion points at the G7 you’ll understand the issue and I posted it yesterday. We rely on rare earth elements from China to produce the weapons you saw in action. But they’ve put restrictions on exports which put us in a bind. There was no way this could be drawn out on that alone.

Closing the Strait of Hormuz was another blow. Crude oil prices were already up 20% when the conflict began and rose a little more after the bombing. J.P. Morgan predicted it could skyrocket to $130 a barrel after Iran’s threat. That’s practically double the price. Which wouldn’t go unfelt at the pump.

And there was a lot of pushback about our involvement. Both globally and at home. Sometimes the best decision is to call a draw and they’ve proven their point. Israel underestimated them and Bibi admitted it. Their economy has taken a hit and businesses were closed save essential operations. And there’s a lot of damage to address. This wasn’t a slam dunk by any measure. And we haven’t mentioned the sleeper cells.

That’s the problem with making threats. You may have to walk it back. Just because you’re bluffing doesn’t mean the other is. And they’ll have their nuclear weapon. The incident has validated the argument for its supporters. We’ll revisit this down the road as always.

Of course it is about saving face.
That is fine. It is a bully who continues to kick a man who has surrendered.
I support Israel.
It is theirs to blow.

And Trump, well he beats kamula or Biden.
But, he blows a lot of air.

I hope this cease fire works out. Israel needs to show mercy and restraint or they will blow the deal.

Report: No Israeli strikes in Iran after 4:00

There have been no Israeli strikes in Iran since 4:00 a.m. (Tehran time). This was reported by the AP news agency, which noted that this aligns with the statement by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who said that "if Israel stops its aggression" at that time, Tehran would cease its "responses."

I follow Amir Tsarfati on Telegram. He lives in Israel and posts updates on what's happening.
I don't know that guy and haven't seen any reporting by western news sources about that, yet. I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd still see more evidence than just hearsay.
