Ok, he did that 2000 years ago for me. That is why he is my friend. He is doing NOTHING about what I need him to do now. My prayers and needs are not about what he did 2000 years before I was born. They are about what is happening NOW. It is like coming to a parent and starving to death and the parent telling you, "What? I fed you last year!"
As for Job, the only thing that entire book says to me is God WILL hurt you and not even care. The pain I am going through make me completely not care what he can do afterwards.
If God giving up His Son to die on a cross (in your place, and my place, we should be the ones on the cross) isn't enough to consider He cares, even when you feel like He doesn't... then I don't know what will.
I could get upset that you are lashing out at God, and even accusing Him of evil, but that isn't where Jesus is in my heart right now. He isn't mad about you saying He doesn't do anything for you (and I believe He does). I'm just really glad Lord Jesus didn't throw everything in His Fathers face when He asked Him to take the cup of suffering on the cross for our sake (yours and mine) from Him and got denied... Because if He had, I'd be going to Hell forever, and so would everyone else on Earth. I know a lot of people think Hell is metaphorical, well they are wrong and I know it. It's the same kind of "Hell" that exists here but worse. The kind you are describing right now with hurt and pain and agony. It exists here, and down there, and Jesus suffered horrendously to spare us of the most severe of it. The Hell on Earth is temporary, the Hell below is permanent.
See, you think you are talking to someone who has an easy life. I won't lay my cards on the table and play the "who has it worst" card, but I can tell you this... easy is something I've never known and am fully aware I never will. I'm in the heavy pain end of the pool. I'm not here to tell you how bad you are for being mad at God. But I am here to tell you that you are wrong, and He is good, and I know life is agonizing torment and we don't understand why, but I still know He is good.
I think if you check the Bible, no one really had it so great. Moses was sent on a suicide mission (the best he knew at least). David was chased around by "God's anointed" who was trying to murder him, including with armies. Adam and Eve were thrown out of paradise, literally. Mary was gossiped about and everyone called her an adulterous woman. Joshua was sent into war after war after war. Lord Jesus was crucified for speaking the truth... And the Israelites who complained in the desert (probably wasn't a cake walk there), they are the ones who died in the desert. (1 Corinthians 10:10)
A relationship with God is like being married. You sign up for better or worse... It is a relationship, and not always a joy ride. It wasn't a joy ride for God while He was here either. Do I understand why He can't take all the bad away now? No. I ask Him all the time why. But I'm absolutely convinced every agonizing moment I live on this Earth, He will reward me for every ache, every pain, every tear, every torturous experience. He will make all wrongs right, and I know it in the deepest depths of my heart.
Like I said in my previous post, this is something that will only be resolved between you and Him. That means prayer and reading the Bible, as people who don't talk to God, don't get answers from God. (Matthew 7:7 - He promises answers)
While He can speak through people on this forum and in other places, the answers you seek are not going to be found in us. Also, I think you might be overlooking your own faults while pointing the finger at the Almighty. Our sins are many, and many more than we can count, no matter how angelic we think we've been.
Just something to consider before prayer.
(James 4:6) (Proverbs 3:34)
Here's a few things God had to say to a disgruntled man confused on why he was suffering from evil himself knowing God was on His throne. This is ultimately between you and the Almighty.
Job 40:1-14
(ESV)
1And the Lord said to Job:
2“Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty?
He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
3Then Job answered the Lord and said:
4“Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you?
I lay my hand on my mouth.
5I have spoken once, and I will not answer;
twice, but I will proceed no further.”
6Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
7“Dress for action like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
8Will you even put me in the wrong?
Will you condemn me that you may be in the right?
9Have you an arm like God,
and can you thunder with a voice like his?
10“Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity;
clothe yourself with glory and splendor.
11Pour out the overflowings of your anger,
and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.
12Look on everyone who is proud and bring him low
and tread down the wicked where they stand.
13Hide them all in the dust together;
bind their faces in the world below.
14Then will I also acknowledge to you
that your own right hand can save you.
