It will also be livestreamed.
It seems as if every time I open Facebook I see 'reels' of Pope Leo, catching stuffed animals one-handed as he rides through crowds in the Popemobile, riding donkeys in Peru surrounded by throngs of children, blessing babies, and making profound statements about faith, humanity, community, and love that resonate strongy with people of all faiths--or no faiths--who believe in goodness and long for a better world.
Mesmerizing with charisma based on authenticity and goodness in a world longing for peace, love, and hope.
In June 14th's media battle between consummate good and attention-craving evil, I will choose good.
Why fill your minds with slime when you can be uplifted and inspired?

Hm, I wonder if stations will be sanctioned/sued for not carrying Donald's Big Birthday Party.

Speaking of consummate good, where is Leo at with responding to that petition?

Is he going to remove the German Cardinal, or give him some slap on the wrist called "Spiritual timeout" like Francis did?

I think it's time for people to stopping conflating everything that's perceived as "going against Trump" as "good; by default"

Perhaps focusing on things like righting some serious wrongs with regards to child abuse is a little more consequential than double-booking TV slots against a Trump parade or doing one-handed stuffed animal catching tricks if he wants to be seen as a "force for good" outside of the Catholic church.

Safe to say I won't be watching either event.

nothing against leo, but...I don't get the idea of virtual events, why pay money to see something at a stadium when you could do it at home, it could be the greatest singer I love, and I feel weird going to a stadium to watch him play via satelite.
Some people evidently like communal experiences, others prefer the comfort and monotony of home?

The tickets are $5, barely covering the cost of opening the facility.
There will be a Mass held after Pope Leo's virtual address, with Cardinal Cupich. Cardinal Cupich, who was appointed by Pope Francis, is very much in sync with Popes Francis and Pope Leo.

the event will feature a Catholic Mass, music, film and in-person testimonials about Pope Leo, who was born on the South Side and is a lifelong White Sox fan. The Archdiocese of Chicago announced Tuesday that the newly installed Pope Leo will deliver a “special video message to the young people of the world,” to be broadcast first from the June 14 event at the home of the Chicago White Sox, 333 W. 35th St.

I think that Pope Leo XIV is reluctant to overturn a decision already made by Pope Francis, who had conducted a Vatican investigation of the matter.

June 14 happens to be my wedding anniversary. I was kind of bummed to see my wedding anniversary become a national day of mourning, with all my friends demonstrating against "No Kings," making banners, etc.

I wanted to see something happen on the national scene that would counteract all the corruption and megalomania, and the horrific waste of money while cutting billions for hungry children and the uninsured. What's wrong with that? I am sure that June 14 just happened to be a day that the White Sox Stadium would be available--after all, it is the height of the baseball season.

So do you not see the irony with this statement?

So in order to counteract the megalomania (which is defined as the obsession with power and wealth, often accompanied by a grandiose sense of importance) of Trump -- and the vast amount of corruption that seems to follow him, you're looking to another source that basically embodies those exact same things (an entity that's accumulated massive wealth, has been fierce in its efforts to maintain power, and also plagued with vast amounts of corruption)?

Is it perhaps time for some folks to take a step back and consider things more analytically?

Saying "I'm so glad the head of the Catholic church is here to be a bulwark against Trump -- because Trump is so money & power hungry, and has a slew of scandals" is like saying "I'm so glad the Outlaws MC are coming to my town to counterbalance the Hells Angels"

Very nice! Keeping him in my daily prayers.
