Since I was a regular here a long time ago...through the loss of our first son, the birth of my daughter and the birth of my second son. I thought I would come by and share this. It was a wonderful day. Family was in. We celebrated. She took the name Antonia after St. Anthony. When it was done and she turned away from the Bishop a friend caught her doing a joyous fist pump on camera.
Before we left the house I have her a fatherly blessing:
I said: Remember how you always want to volunteer to work with those in need. How you keep money on the home altar for when people need it. How you get angry when someone is treated unjustly and demand something be done. Do those things. Be the person He made you to be and use the gifts He has given you. He already planted seeds. Now they are watered in a special way. Keep them growing by living our who He made you to be in service to Him and in service for others.
She said: Will you come with me?
I said: Until I can no longer walk.
I pray for all of you here. I will be doing the husband and father thing. And I will stop in from time to time to say hi.
Before we left the house I have her a fatherly blessing:
In Baptism you were claimed for Christ. After you are Confirmed today may your words and your actions show people that you are Christ’s. May you lead them to Him. May your questions in life strengthen you. May His answers save you. May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk. To you, the heavenly Father is more precious than all the treasures of the world, and More precious than all the treasures of the world are you to Your Father in heaven and to us. Walk with Him always, I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
She came upstairs this morning and said: What do I do now?I said: Remember how you always want to volunteer to work with those in need. How you keep money on the home altar for when people need it.
