  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1 Corinthians 15:25 describes Jesus as waiting for the remaining "lost sheep" to follow him

If forever punishment was true, Jesus wouldn't need to wait on anybody. If forever punishment was true, Jesus would forget about the lost sheep and get the party started in Heaven. However, this verse describes Jesus as WAITING. Remember, God is patient, not wanting any to be lost.

1 Corinthians 15:25
English Standard Version
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

All judgment is entrusted to Jesus.

The timeline is set by the Father however.

Regardless of the answer, there is a crucial element that "cannot be known"

The punishment is eternal the wages of sin is death Rom 6:23 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 meaning those who do not believe do perish. Believe is much bigger than just I believe in God as seen in Mat 7:21-23 it means to be live Him.

The punishment is eternal. death, but God is not going to eternally punish the lost forever, that would make them immortal and God promises the lost will die, not be immortal.

There are three views of punishment floating around Christiandom. I personally take no stance as scripture is unclear. That being said, ones option on God's final judgment is not a salvation issue however, Universalism could lead to apostasy. Blessings.

If forever punishment was true,
And Jesus' words in Mt 25:46?

"They will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

How did you miss that?
