  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A male priest can represent Jesus at the Last Supper on Sunday.

A woman priest can represent the Holy Spirit on Saturday.

Sunflowers show adoration because they turn to follow the Sun.

A woman priest at Saturday Mass,
can hold up a Sunflower and say

We adore you Jesus.

We love you Jesus.

Sunday is the first day of the week & Saturday is the seventh day of the week, the true sabbath, this is the day most Jews adhere too.
Saturday is the 6th day of the week and Sunday is the seventh day of the week. For example in the EU. ;)

So why do most Jews adhere to Saturday as the Sabbath ?

If you believe in Christian churches having priests, and if you believe that those priests represent Christ, then surely they are Christ's representatives at all times, not just one day a week. I have never heard of priests representing the Holy Spirit. And why cannot a man hold up a sunflower as an illustration of adoring Jesus?

In the bible, all Christians are described as priests:

“John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Re 1:4-6 NKJV)

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1Pe 2:9 NKJV)

Using two different days of the week
means that Sunday Mass would remain the same.
Well, not being a Roman Catholic, I don't understand why Mass shouldn't be the same which ever day it happens.

If you don’t like using Saturday for it.

How about Monday ?
I know of an Episcopal convent that has Monday as their day of rest. I think they’re located in New Jersey.

Sunday never felt like a day of rest for us. When we began celebrating shabbat on Friday evenings we noticed a shift internally and a natural slowing occurred. We plan our week intentionally to support the same. Fridays and Saturdays are always relaxed and Sunday is the time for planning and preparation for the week ahead.

Saturday is the Sabbath and is the seventh day of the week. Exo 20:10

Saturday literally translates into the Sabbath in most ancient languages. https://manna.amazingfacts.org/amazingfacts/website/sabbathtruth/documents/chart-of-the-week.pdf

We trace the weekly cycle right back to Creation Gen 2:1-3

Jesus rose on the first day Mark 16:9 and rested on the seventh day Sabbath even in death Luke 23:50

Regardless what man has done to the calendar Sunday will always be the first day and the seventh day will always be the Sabbath
