  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you want to be great you must be a slave

I love this! We see so many Christian church leaders who become wealthy and enjoy being praised and exalted while ignoring what Jesus commanded. We must humble ourselves and serve others, not the other way around!

Matthew 20:26-28: "Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Serving others and meeting their needs is a popular way of generating wealth. Problem solving has always been lucrative if properly done. Duplicitous pastors rely on emotional manipulation and mind games to do the same.

And that's a good thing, in my view.

Those who want to emulate Christ in order to be "great" must follow his example to serve others and to be their "slave"

Yeah, pastor acts like he should be a mini pope ... people encountering this attitude waiting to receive equivalent service.
