I know a Christian at a conservative church here in Massachusetts. He and his wife want to adopt a child and have to fill out paperwork. One of the questions seems to ask if he supports LGBTQ in relation to child rearing or related. They also ask him about supporting the child’s chosen religion; however he is saying that if he adopts a child then he wants to bring the child to church and he doesn’t really like the other question either. This is the first time I have encountered this type of situation first hand, most everything else has been reading about it online or in the news. I wonder if anyone has any comments or advice or other similar knowledge about this type of thing ?

Someone said a possible answer is:
'”We would seek the advice and counsel of people with appropriate education to guide us.”

I also found some articles about the same type of thing

Answer honestly. These agencies are protecting a child in the rare case they may have mismatched gender identity or are attracted to the same sex. As far as choosing a religion, by the time a child is able or even interested in choosing their own path , they are most likely adults.

Hey, they are 'protecting' the right to the child to become a lost soul without God?
But same sex couples can adopt right?, this is disgusting, it seems some goverments are being allergic to God, wonder what evil force is doing that.

It's not the government, but the individuals who are in government. Right now, possibly Donald will have something to say and do about any way Massachusetts people try to cancel evangelicals from adopting in Massachusetts.

Yes, I agree with telling the truth. And maybe have a personal talk with the one evaluating you and ask for the person's real reason for rejecting you, in case you are turned down.

But it is possible the overseers of adoption want to get children adopted, and so they are looking for good matches.

And in case they are discriminating . . . it might be exposed and things could go differently. But also I know people adopt from other countries. China allowed two girls to be adopted by people in my church, at that time. So, in case Communist China knew the couple was evangelical . . . this could mean you can get children from another country, even if they are not into Christianity.

May be there are autonomous Christian adoption organizations who can connect you with a child. But beware that there can be child trafficking, of different sorts. One thing can be the parents essentially abandon a child so the child gets taken in by a mission. And there has been investigation of at least one person in a rather destitute area where it could be more easy to traffic children and have a cover of it working in an organization. So, pray for God to guide you according to what He knows is really going on.

Plus, you can do foster care. In Massachusetts . . . some time back . . . a guy told me how his family would evaluate together about who came to their home. The children voted, too, and they evaluated why the fostered child wanted to be there and if that matched with their Christian family culture of their home.

Pray and see how with God you can find better than what anyone is talking about. Discover how He opens doors, in life and in your mind :)
