  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey something that just happened- I was calculating my finances and this came to me, God gave me wisdom in a big way! I have a plan that I think is from God that will get me $100,000 in 1 year, once I have this there are a number of mobile homes in the area for sale for only about $20,000 and they are fairly nice! I may just ditch paying rent for an apartment and just buy a house, then I could save my income rather than using it for rent! After I bought the house I would still have 80 thou in the bank! I was trapped in my current situation with living in Essex House apartments in middletown, PA,, my parents forced me to move in and would not let me leave, but now I have a way out, God just opened the door for me to get out of this! If I have that kind of money my parents won't care, they will let me leave! There are lots of nice places I could move in to, I prefer being out in the country where it is nice and peaceful, I could get a mobile home up on Fishing Creek Valley road north of Harrisburg or on Clarks Valley Road up near Dauphin, they are both a remote area back in the woods but still only like a 15 minute drive from Harrisburg! I also like Halifax, I could move up there!

Hi, be sure to study up on the pros and cons of mobile homes. Plus, hire an inspector or at least someone that know mobile homes well to check it out.
I like them, but if it sits on rented land, the monthly rent of land can still go up. Also, the cost of maintenance should be figured in. They are not built with the best materials, but if you keep it up, it is really no different from a house, except that severe storms can damage it more. You can save a ton on taxes though, and sometimes they can appreciate in value.

I've lived in mobiles (on land) most of my life rather than going into significant debt and leastwise-you will recoup your investment back and likely will gain some in value.

Yes I calculated things and getting a mobile home would eventually save me money after 1 year or so of not paying rent, I think I am going to do this! My only concern is that I would prefer not to have to mow the lawn and take care of the flower bed on the lot, but I believe some mobile home parks do not require this but I am not sure, some do have a plot so small you could mow the whole thing in 5 minutes, that wouldn't be bad.

You would be better off to get get a mobile on land and hire someone to do yard work .... or make it so it's more of a "natural setting" .... paying lot space rent is money out the window .... the land will hold or increase in value .... the mobile may not increase much in value . The main value is in the land ... not the mobile.
