Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Even I must admit Iran will never recover from this political correctness. The Associated Press better fall in line, otherwise they will be complicit in Iran's nuclear program.

Yeah well Trump can call it whatever he wants but I’m kinda getting sick of his renaming places just because he wants to for no particular reason. I’m sticking with the Gulf of Mexico and the Persian Gulf because that’s what they’ve always been called, just like I’m sticking with male & female because that’s what they’ve always been called. You wanna call it something else, fine go ahead I don’t care, but don’t expect me to play along because it’s stupid. I’ve lived in Texas all my life, we’ve always called it the Gulf of Mexico and I’ll continue calling it that until the day I die because I’m not interested in jumping on any bandwagons just for the heck of it. I’ll refer to a man as he and a woman as she and if someone doesn’t like it I just won’t associate with that person and if I’m forced to I’ll just refer to the person by name instead of using pronouns because I’m not jumping on that bandwagon either. I’m old, I don’t care, this world is going to hell in a hand basket, and I’m not interested in participating in any of it.

imo name changes are fine if they are for a good reason. I know people who have changed their names - and Im not talking about marriage. Why would I fight that?

Places too. Like I get why Palisades Tahoe changed to its current name. If there was a good reason to say "Gulf of America" Id say that too. But there isnt. Its just political, awkward, and probably expensive.

Journalist Yashar Ali, who is of Iranian descent and has been publicly critical of the totalitarian government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, tweeted that not only had Iranian regime officials “made it clear” it “would be unacceptable” to change the Gulf’s name, “Iranians around the world—who rarely agree on anything—were united in their condemnation of the proposal.”
