  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Asian American voters backed Trump in Nevada. Here's how they feel about him now

Pauline Lee is the daughter of immigrants who came to the United States as teenagers, with nothing.

"When they came here they were dirt poor," she recalled.

They worked entry-level jobs at first, before they both went on to study and build successful careers in California.

Lee is proud of her family's immigration stories — and the fact that they came to the U.S. legally.

"Illegal immigration is, for me, one of the biggest problems, because you're also giving these illegal immigrants a lot of our resources that should be retained for our own Americans," she said. "That's a real problem."

This is a strong reason against Biden's immigration policy and resentment, including my wife.

"Illegal immigration is, for me, one of the biggest problems, because you're also giving these illegal immigrants a lot of our resources that should be retained for our own Americans," she said. "That's a real problem."

ICE is doing stupid stuff, I can relate to what May is saying.

But for some Asian Americans here, uncertainty around Trump's deportation policy is causing fear.

At an Asian cultural festival in Las Vegas recently, a woman named May — a naturalized citizen who was born in the Philippines — says Trump's efforts to do away with birthright citizenship worry her.

"I'm like, will I be next … you know what I mean?" she asked.

I notice that it's not breaking the law that bothers Donald Trump. He pardoned all sorts of criminals who attacked the Capitol, and rescued a man who was trafficking women, bringing him safely home to the U.S. It's people he doesn't like, coming to America. The legality isn't of much concern to him.

Only the innocent political prisoners were pardoned.

Trump grants sweeping pardon of Jan. 6 defendants, including rioters who violently attacked police

Why Donald Trump embraced Andrew Tate

The American right has more in common with the misogynistic influencer than it pretends.
Andrew Tate was also accused of rape – and were forbidden to leave the country; they also face several proceedings in the UK, including a civil suit brought by four women accusing the pair of rape and coercive control. (The men deny the allegations made against them in both countries.)

On 27 February, the Tate brothers got on a private jet and flew from Romania back to America. Their release seems to have come courtesy of Donald Trump, whose allies and administration officials have advocated for the brothers privately and publicly.

It’s hard to understand what Trump hopes to gain. Andrew Tate is primarily famous for being a misogynist influencer, radicalising scores of young men to embrace a kind of violent porno fantasy of masculinity, where men are made tough by abusing and dominating women. This is, of course, a masculinity for the deeply insecure, a characteristic Tate and Trump share. But it’s also a masculinity gaining prominence within the Republican Party.

The FBI assets who actually instigated the rioting are not included in the pardon.
Funny how even Trump's own cronies are unable to find any evidence for that story.

It's actually funnier to give the members of J6 Commitee a preemptive pardon if they were not guilty of mistrial and destroying evidences.

Since Trump had threatened to avenge himself on them before he took office, Biden just made sure he wouldn't be able to abuse his power that way.

Got a link to a verified report where Trump threatened to avenge himself? Or are you simply copying the fake news strategy of people who hate Christians?

During an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” President-elect Donald Trump said some members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack should be imprisoned. “Everybody on that committee … for what they did, yeah, honestly, they should go to jail,” Trump told Welker.

Trump’s plan to jail his political enemies once he returns to the White House is incredibly short-sighted. It’s a move that would not only be bad for the country and Congress, but also bad for Trump himself — for three reasons:

Or are you simply copying the fake news strategy of people who hate Christians?

Do you honestly believe that Trump is a Christian? He brags about getting away with sexual assaulting women. He says he never asks God for forgiveness. Doesn't sound much like the Christians I know.

Just as I have suspected...fake news source twisting what Trump said to support their false narrative. Didn't you even notice the difference?

"...honestly, they should go to jail"
vs
"Trump’s plan to jail his political enemies"

Saying "they should go to jail" is not the same as "I'm planning to send them to jail" or "I will send them to jail". This is the same type of lies made by those who got paid by the religious leaders about what Jesus said...

"We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands."

I don't think that's much of an excuse for you. He clearly wants them in jail. He says he can deport American citizens. If you don't get that, I don't think there's much that could be done to help you.

Anyway, Biden thwarted his intentions, and that's how it is. Trump did it too, pardoning rioters who assaulted police and a human trafficker who was charged with sexually abusing a minor. Same purpose, just different kinds of people.

It's not an excuse... I'm simply pointing out the lies being spread by haters of Christians. And you fell for each one of those lies.

The Biden pardons? Those are obviously admittance of guilt, because it specifies the range of dates the pardoned crime(s) were supposedly committed. Anybody with common sense would have been thinking already.

Until his people finally convinced him that his plan wouldn't work, he was even trying to justify prosecuting his political enemies anyway:

Relying on a new conspiracy theory, Donald Trump took to his social media website in the wee hours of Monday to declare his predecessor’s preemptive pardons of members of the congressional committee that investigated his January 6 insurrection null and void.

Trump suggested that the grant of clemency issued to the committee members and their staff was not legal because it was signed by an autopen and without the knowledge of then-President Joe Biden.

“The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen,” Trump raged. “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them!”

Don't be so gullible.

I'm not the one turning a blind eye on the obvious...Why the need to specify date ranges on the preemptive pardons if the crimes were not even committed in the first place?

And the use of Autopen was only discovered recently. Why do you feel the need to spread deception here? Are you even a Christian?

I see your denial. But the facts are more persuasive.
Why the need to specify date ranges on the preemptive pardons if the crimes were not even committed in the first place?
Because it cut the ground out from under Trump's plans.
And the use of Autopen was only discovered recently.
Doesn't matter. The pardons are real. No excuses.

Why do you feel the need to spread deception here? Are you even a Christian?
There's pretty much nothing that goes so bad for one here that one can't make worse by becoming angry and abusive.

I'm neither angry nor abusive. I'm simply good at catching lies and deceptions.

Again...you claimed Trump planned to avenge himself against his political enemies. Give us a proof without using an obviously twisted facts or resorting to deception. I will wait.

There's no way Biden gave the pardons as a reaction to what Trump said after the discovery of Biden signatures using Autopen.

Accusing others of deception and challenging their faith in God is a pretty good tip-off.

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump wants to jail former and current members of Congress who investigated his incitement of the violent Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and he plans to pardon the rioters immediately upon taking office, he told NBC News Sunday.

On the network’s “Meet the Press with Kristen Welker,” Trump said leaders of the special congressional panel that probed the Capitol riot “lied” and “should go to jail.”

Trump singled out committee Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat and a senior Black member of Congress, and former high-ranking House Republican Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who co-chaired the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.

“Cheney did something that’s inexcusable, along with Thompson and the people on the un-select committee of political thugs and, you know, creeps,” Trump told NBC host Welker.

Jason Miller, an adviser to Trump, walked back the president-elect’s comments Monday. Miller told CNN that Trump’s remarks about jailing Jan. 6 committee members were taken out of context and that he just wants his administration to “apply the law equally” to everybody.

President Joe Biden is reportedly mulling preemptive pardons for Cheney and former Democratic Congressman and incoming Sen. Adam Schiff of California, who also sat on the panel, along with others who could be targeted by the new Trump administration, according to media reports citing anonymous White House sources.

Trump takes office Jan. 20.

There's really no point in denial; it's on record. Sometimes, it's best to just walk away from the forum for a bit and then come back and answer. It's saved me a lot of embarrassment.

You know I'm not accusing you of deception... I'm saying what you are doing is deception. Twisting the facts is deception.

Don't you even read the articles that you link to yourself? It's just another twisting of the same Trump statement on the first article you linked to. Trump never said he was planning to avenge himself nor to get those dishonest people jailed.

He simply said "...honestly, they should go to jail". If that statement prompted Biden to issue the pardons, then there's no justifiable reason to include Fauci, Milley, and all the Biden families. Don't be gullible (or should I rather say don't think you can deceive us).

Anybody reading this thread can see for themselves what I'm talking about.

Given his history of vindictiveness, Biden just chose to cut him off from revenge on any of the people he's perceived as enemies.

As I said, you would do better to walk away from this for a bit before responding.
