Trump likes pointing out he had a massive impact on the Canadian election.

He did. Without Trump the leftists could only run on their past record which was a complete disaster. With the aid of the old leftists media (still watched by many Canadians) they had their "Elbows Up" campaign, which means putting your elbows up in hockey to protect yourself [from Trump]. The conservatives would have made Canada more competitive with the US by fully developing its massive resource sector and selling to international markets instead of relying on the US. Under the leftists, the country will be weaker and less competitive with the US because of environmental production caps, carbon taxes on industries, and division between Ottawa and western provinces who have all the natural resources (western separation is already being discussed). The US with trillions coming into the private sector (the true economy) through private investment, tariffs and unlocking all its tremendous wealth in natural resources on and offshore, then contrast that to a leftist Canada with billions coming in from public “investment” (more borrowing and debt with increased debt servicing/interest charges), environmental caps on resource development, carbon taxes on industries, manufacturing going south because of tariffs/taxes along with the private sector workforce, higher housing prices, more crime, fentanyl addiction, homelessness, poverty and food-banks. This weak, poor and divided Canada under a globalists/leftists' regime will be much easier for Trump to deal with than a strong, united, wealthy and competitive Canada under a nationalist conservative regime. A brilliant move by Trump.

Boy oh boy. Two examples in less than 24 hours of Trump being a petty little man.

See also any moment he is speaking not from a pre written script.

He's more concerned with being personally "important" than with actual ideology and especially policy.
He wants people to think he has the power to make or break public figures. He then uses that power to extort people to do what he wants them to do.

"You know, until I came along, remember that the conservative was leading by 25 points. "

And before you came along (2016) we had a functional government and economy.
