  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did anyone watch the Pope’s funeral in its entirety?

I watched it time-delayed, on PBS. I skipped the part where the hearse was driving through Rome, but I watched all of the service itself.

May he rest in peace and be received into the loving arms of God.

I did not but I was planning to look at it later on YouTube.
It was very touching. I watched it all the way to carrying the casket into the basilica of Saint Mary Major. Some of the commentary was distracting. I watched it on EWTN.

I tend not to be a fan of watching funerals on TV, not because they're sad, but because they're drawn out, but maybe I'll be ok with this one.

I only watched the part where Pope Francis in his coffin was driven through the streets of Rome.

It amazed be how he became known as the "people's Pope." I always loved Pope Francis,
as I did all the popes in my lifetime.
