CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Extremist" varies from one 'study' to another. The use of the term is, well ...usually directed.
My son was a Marine, and I can't help wondering if attitudes did a huge shift during his 4 years, because of Washington's and the Commander-in-Chief's mindset. Before he gave up, his thinking gradually changed from something like, "Let's do this!", to "What are we doing, anyway?" Nothing made sense to him there, after a while.

Looks like you have done some research on the topic. Therefore, I ask you what is the percentage of the amount of left-wing and right-wing extremists in the US military? To the very best of my knowledge, I have never met any extremists in the military throughout my 26+ years serving in the active duty Army and the National Guard.

I can’t say for sure but I would bet good money there’s not too many extreme leftists (ie communists/marxist) looking to join up with the US military. Opposing American imperialism is kind of the whole point of their entire worldview.
