I deeply respect the Jewish people and believe we should always stand against anti-Semitism and for their protection and dignity. That said, I think many Evangelicals have blurred the lines between political support for Israel and spiritual partnership in ways that can be dangerous.

The reality is that Jewish people, just like anyone else, need the Gospel. Without faith in Jesus Christ, no one is saved (John 14:6). When we create spiritual alliances or joint religious events that avoid proclaiming the Gospel to the Jewish people, we unintentionally reinforce the false idea that they already have a saving relationship with God apart from Christ.

To put it into perspective, would most Evangelicals be comfortable forming spiritual alliances with Muslims or Buddhists without sharing the Gospel with them? Probably not. And yet, when it comes to modern Judaism, many seem hesitant to proclaim Christ as the only way to salvation. We can’t make exceptions based on history or sentiment. All people need Jesus. Love that doesn't point to Him isn’t love at all, it’s silence that can cost someone eternity.

What concerns me even more is when this silence is paired with voices from the prosperity gospel movement, which often distorts the message of Christ into something self-serving and worldly. In my view, these kinds of alliances are not helping Israel spiritually, nor are they preparing anyone well for the days ahead.

We need to love Israel the way Christ does, by praying for their peace and well-being, yes, but also by faithfully sharing the truth that Jesus is their Messiah. Anything less falls short of true Christian love.
