ICE grabbed the wrong person but instead of releasing him or allowing him to be treated as a normal illegal immigrant knowingly and deliberately shopped him of to the El Salvador Concentration camp.

There's no reason to believe Trump's DHS will try to correct mistakes in the future. After all, they're currently ignoring a USSC ruling to correct one such mistake.

ICE has a very aggressive quota to hit. The rate of mistakes will of course go up.

"Take him anyway" is not a mistake. That's a deliberate act by officers who ought to know and act better.

That his deportation to El Salvador was a mistake is speculation. The documentedny.com article posits that as a possibility, but makes no claims about its veracity.

Why are you sure they will try to correct it? The administration and the El Savadorian government are both thumbing their noses at an existing court order for the administration to facilitate the return of the man from Maryland.

I can't speak for others, but I do not object to deportations whole cloth like that. However, I do object to the denial of due process and the breaking of regular immigration processes as has been done in this case and many others.

I generally do not like these comparisons, either, but it's getting harder and harder to deny that the Trump administration is - if not overtly murderous themselves - then callously acquiescent to or even supportive of the murderous nature of others, to the point where I now see the plausibility of "several thousand deaths" at their hands. Trump supported Duterte as he was encouraging mass vigilantism in the Philippines. He's supported Netenyahu as he's engaged in war crimes in Gaza and allowed (or even encouraged) the further oppression of Palestinians in the West Bank. He's been notoriously deferential to Putin and resistant to helping Zelensky. He's encouraged the death penalty here at home. He took a "you're on your own" approach to COVID first and now to disaster relief via FEMA. He cut off a bunch of foreign aid to poor countries without warning. And now he's shipping people off to El Salvador without due process.

Even if he's not pulling the trigger himself, he's taken a number of stances that free up space for other people to die.

It’s not hard to get it right if you don’t rush your work. Of course, for this amateur administration, even the simplest things they seem to get completely wrong.
