I remember getting a huge cocaine haul around 2006 when I was in the Coast Guard. All by ourselves in the Pacific. We both accidentally found each other. No intelligence whatsoever. We pulled into San Diego about a month later and turned it over to the DEA. Next day the papers all said DEA seized over one hundred million dollars of cocaine in San Diego harbor. The only mention of us was that we assisted and we were based out of Seattle.

Not sure why they're making marijuana a main focus given its legal status in so many states.

Was it just a case where they targeting a cocaine bust, and the marijuana just happened to be there with it by happenstance?

At a press conference on Wednesday, Bondi confirmed that the Coast intercepted almost 45,000 pounds of cocaine and 3,800 pounds of marijuana worth over $509 million.

I remember last year, when Customs seized that haul of 2800 pounds of pot at the World Trade Bridge, the estimated the value was at only about $4 million.


So I would have to assume it was the 45,000 pounds of blow that was the "big get" on this bust.
