  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

At least eight states [including NY offer] legal protections to health care providers who prescribe abortion pills to patients in states where abortion is banned.

[NY's also allows for a countersuit for damages.]

Other background:

The post office is allowed to mail them anywhere.

And Trump stated on the campaign trail that he would not try to stop such interstate mail.

Would this be similar to medical marijuana at all or no? Not trying to go off topic.
I can see the analogy, but marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, so it would be illegal to mail it (USPS) anywhere, even inside a state where it was legal.

New York clerk refuses to enforce Texas effort to punish abortion provider

Texas suit alleging Dr Margaret Carpenter mailed abortion pills to Lone Star state will likely go to US supreme court

In December, the Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton, sued Dr Margaret Carpenter in a Texas court [OP] for allegedly mailing abortion pills to the Lone Star state, which bans virtually all abortions. After Carpenter did not show up to a court hearing earlier this year, a Texas judge ruled against her, ordering her to pay a $113,000 penalty and stop sending abortion pills to Texas.

New York has, however, enacted a “shield law” that forbids state officials from extraditing abortion providers to other states or complying with out-of-state court orders.
