  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bad experience with religious people?

Amen ! ! !

The religious person I had the worst ever experience with was a guy who could look down on women just because they weren't gorgeous - - right while he supposed he was doing everything possible to make sure he got to Heaven. And he would self-righteously criticize people instead of hoping for them to be forgiven and to do better.

There's a reason I know all this about the guy . . . after God has made me more wise to - - myself. I have been my own biggest problem.

Yes, so true… I ve seen people leave the church because of this kind of people. Our worst enemy is among us! If the pastor and the congregation don’t do anything to prevent from these behaviors then We can go and Explain why. But, let s not forget to pray for them and stick to God. Leaving is a defeat that the fallen angel loves.

This is the result of having a church house full of lukewarm or lip-service Christians. They’ve learned how to go through the motions well enough to be seen as model believers, but their lives bear no real fruit. Sadly, that can lead to real harm, cliques, gossip, backbiting, gatekeeping, and more. What makes it worse is that new or growing believers often see these individuals as examples of what Christianity looks like. So, when these “model” Christians act in un-Christlike ways, the ones who are genuinely following Jesus, the true Church, often end up taking the blame. Not saying a true follower of Jesus is going to be perfect. We all have to be mindful of how we interact with others, but those instances are much less common.
