  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mocking people is disgusting when Democrats do it.

No - its disgusting when anyone does it. I assume you are not referring to the long long debunked lie that Trump was mocking a reporter - that road has been gone down and shown false

I like her. She also had a great name for MTG that I wont be repeating here.

Welcome to politics in the age of Trumpism!
Name calling, mocking and obscenity is good when Democrats say it about Republicans?

Yes. It’s good when anyone does it. That’s where we are now with politics in this country. You might as well get used to it like we’ve had to.

Yeah, that was rude. I didn't know that Abbott was in a wheel chair, which is interesting trivia. Mocking cripples for being crippled should not be condoned. Mocking us (not in a wheelchair, but walk funny) for our actions is fair.

Not shone false at all. Question: doo disabled folk get special dispensation/protection against mocking, name calling, obscenities, etc. or is it only disgusting when done to them?

Even if we accept the premise that Trump was not trying to mock this person's individual affliction, he was still mocking him with a generally offensive imitation of a handicapped person (that also happened to appear similar to the person's affliction).

Obama did. Any criticism was racism. George Soros does. Any criticism is anti Semitism.
Kamala Harris does. Her election failure is blamed on racism and misogyny.

Exactly, there were plenty of valid non-racist reasons to depict Obama with a noose around his neck. Without a complete psychological work-up of the artist, one cannot leap to a conclusion of racism.

I said criticism, not actual racism. However It was fine to depict George W. Bush as a monkey, but not Obama
