  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yes, you can have an unlimited defense budget as we essentially do, spending 9 time what any other country spends.

Even then, we have choice with regard to how to spend the money. We could spend the money on a new manned fighter jet. We could spend on a Golden Dome to protect the country (as Israel has done).

You could continue to spend money on $500 toilet seats.

Yes, I just have to trust that the people at the top are not trying to enrich their family with jobs or even a job in their own future. I too think defense spending can be cut some, and certainly some of the waste can be cut. I just don't have expertise on jets and what the USA might want in that area. I like the idea of a dome, but the USA is a big country and it would seem much more difficult than a smaller nation like Israel. So I am glad the experts and elected officials can decide on what is best for the USA.

We spend 9 times as much because we have 9 times as many enemies other countries have because of the actions and rhetoric the Democrats and their stolen elections.

We do not have 9 more enemies than Iran, China and Russia.

And this spending is not a new thing. We certainly didn't have 9 times more enemies 20 years ago.

1) There needs to be a DOGE division in the Defense and Homeland Security departments,
2) There needs to be better long-term planning in both departments.
3) I understand that the big companies will make their money on government contracts. That isn't the issue. We could spend the money much, much better.
