Are Trump and the Republicans going to put an end to Social Security for Americans on Social Security/Disability?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was barely able to hang on to my sanity with everything I went through and still go through with my disability. And the only thing maintaining it now is my living situation right now currently. Which is only supported/maintained by my being on social security/disability. And I'm hearing a lot on social media about Trump and Musk and the Republicans maybe wanting to put an end to people being on social security/disability. So is there any truth to that right now currently?
I no longer want to die, but I'll seriously consider suicide again if they take away my income, or remove me from being on social security/disability, and I don't think I'm at all alone in that either, as I'm sure there are a ton of other people who might consider the same, or who might be just like me in that area out there right now currently, if they were to take away our income, or remove us from being on social security/disability. So if they do, they are going to have a lot of blood on their hands (or worse with some maybe) if they decide to do that right now currently.

Honestly, I don’t know how to console you about your fear other than it is a waste of your time and energy. This is the tactic of this administration, fear! Don't feed the adversary with your fear anymore, please. Go about your day in goodness, righteousness and love. Especially love, as it casts out all fear.

I think the plan is to make SS very much like your Health Industry. To make it employer supported. So if you have a good job you will get a good SS package.
It ends when you go unemployed though.

That's not going to work for me. If that's their plan, then suicide or worse then becomes a viable option both for me, and maybe many, many other people like me.

I'm not overly afraid of it, but I am a little bit worried about it though. The reason I'm not overly afraid of it is because I don't see how they could get away with it right now, and also that, vote-wise, I think it would be akin to political suicide, but I could be wrong about that maybe though? With Trump, and a Trump presidency, everything seems/feels like it's very, very uncertain all of the time. They had just better just leave it alone though, etc. And leave people like me alone though, etc.

70 million people on Social Security--99% without billionaire sons-in-law--are too many people to ignore.
They will try to manipulate the media, but they can't mess around with 70 million people.
They often seem heartless and cruel but lash out at groups whose voting numbers are small. Immigrants. LGBT. Etc.

My diagnosis is schizophrenic, but it also causes me to also be a bit agoraphobic, since I constantly get bombarded and attacked by everything, and I do mean "everything", whenever I step out of my apartment. When you do see me out, you'll see me with headphones in a lot, and always on/going constantly a lot, because of this.
And I'm probably also alone a lot because of it also, which comes with it's own set of unique challenges to overcome a lot because of this. People like us who have these unique set of challenges don't have other people that are support systems to us ever, etc. It's a great big mess to deal with really, a whole big complete mess that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy dealing with all that comes along with this. Probably better just leave us all alone, is all I'm saying. We have way, way more than exceedingly earned what little we get, etc, and are always, always constantly "paying for it" in ways that most of you probably can't possibly imagine, or will ever be able to fully understand, or comprehend, etc. Leave us alone please. We're as stable as we're probably ever going to get. Upset that, and see what you get.

Fear not and this affects me too. Let us logically think things through, since we know that every politician does what they do for votes he won't do away with payment to you and me unless he's throwing the Republican party under the bus.

They are making things difficult for recipients, but realistically you probably will be okay as most of this is unlawful. For the time being, be sure to have your documentation, including birth certificate (or naturalization papers), all social security documentation, medical papers, etc. You may need to locate the nearest office still open - be aware of where it is, how to get there and what the hours will be, just in case.
If preparing eases your anxiety, then get your ducks in a row and plan. If preparing stresses you out, just do the minimum (papers in order) and wait it out. Do what gives you happiness even when you don't feel like it. Good luck to us all!
Most likely this effort by DOG-E will peter out quickly as it is wildly unpopular and seriously harmful to Trump's base.

It's funny that you mention this, because it's exactly what I'm doing right now, or have right now started doing. Getting all my important papers/documentation in order, and I just got a safe to put them in also. Also making out a will also. But none of this has been because of this that I am right now talking about though, but I just felt the need to get it done/get it taken care of or start doing it.

Older uneconomically viable people do not generate revenue. America is an Oligarchy now (well done by the way). Destroying the ability of uneconomically viable units of production (people) to survive is merely an efficient way to funnel resources into the hands of the Oligarchs.
Contrast with Russia who sends their 50+ alcoholic or criminal males to a meat grinder leaving only economically males in circulation. America does a similar thing with under (as designed) educated young folks to join the military or grooms them into the Prison Industrial Complex to be used as a resource (again to funnel wealth towards the Oligarchs.
Oligarchy is as Oligarchy does.

They definitely didn't make it very easy to choose this time around. But once the choice was made, I was actually very happy for Trump, and listened to his winning speech afterwards, etc.
