  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been learning biblical Hebrew for a few years, and I've reached the point where I think "immersion" in the language (or as close as I can get to it- i.e., listening to audio recordings, preferably of biblical texts) would be beneficial. The problem is, I can't find much in the way of audio recordings with traditional pronunciation. I was able to find the whole Old Testament in Hebrew on youtube, but I'm pretty sure it was in modern pronunciation (waw says "v").

So my question is: does anyone know where I could find audio recordings of the Old Testament in Hebrew? If you didn't already guess, I am specifically looking for traditional pronunciation. If it ends up being an audiobook that actually costs money, that's fine (although I would like youtube even better). Best case scenario, it would include a video with the text that's being read, so I could attempt to follow along (but I admit that may be getting too picky).

Also, I plan to take Greek, so I'll preemptively ask the same about recordings of the New Testament in koine Greek.
