Isaiah prophesied YHWH-God coming in 40:Two and a half centuries later, Malachi added some detail in 3:3 A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD [YHWH]; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
i.e., John the Baptizer1 I will send my messenger,
i.e., before Godwho will prepare the way before me.

A few centuries later, it was fulfilled bright and early in Mark 1:you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty.
G2962-kurios2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, 3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Preparec the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’”
Jesus applied the prophecy to himself when he spoke about John in Matthew 11:
i.e., John the Baptizer10 "This is the one about whom it is written: ’I will send my messenger
i.e., Jesusahead of you,
i.e., Jesus.who will prepare your way before you'
Jesus alluded himself to be YHWH-God by applying Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 to Himself. This supports Jesus' divinity and his identity as YHWH-God incarnate.
