Candidate Trump played on scapegoating and fears. To his discredit, he created millions of xenophobes convinced they will not be safe unless we deport every immigrant we can find. I do not blame these misled people. They were manipulated by someone who knows little about governing, but quite a bit about media.
It is a terrible thing to create racists out of basically good frightened people through manipulating the stats and their emotions.
