  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How does Spirit/Jesus/God speak to you?

I've heard GOD's voice twice, quite clearly.

The first time, I was thinking of taking martial arts classes, and GOD said, "If you do this, I WILL TAKE MY PROTECTION FROM YOU." I obeyed, and I've seen GOD keep me safe in some very bad situations.

The second time was when I was struggling with temptation. I had a very bad addiction (for 23 years) and had made a commitment to fight and overcome the addiction. I'd told myself that after the burial of my friend (who had passed on), I too would bury the addiction forever. However, it didn't happen. Barely a week later, the temptation to indulge 'one last time' was knocking on my door, and that was when I heard the voice of GOD again.

HE ASKED, "Do you love THE LORD?"

I said yes.

AND HE ANSWERED, "THEN DON'T DO IT."

This brought to mind the verse in which JESUS SAYS, "If you love ME, obey MY COMMANDMENTS." Although I did fall, I learned an important lesson: JESUS is the solid rock we need to stand on. And each time temptation calls, JESUS is asking the same question HE ASKED Peter, "Do you love ME?"
