  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rep Al Green was kicked out of the chamber during President Donald Trump's address

Most people who watched President Donald Trump'sprimetime address to a joint session of Congress had a positive opinion of what he spelled out in his speech, according to snap polls.

Trump has been moving at warp speed since his Jan. 20 inauguration, and he used his speech to deliver a full-throated defense of his avalanche of activity, while repeatedly targeting former President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats.

According to a CNN instant poll, nearly seven in 10 respondents viewed Trump's speech as positive {44% said very positive and 25% said somewhat positive), while 31% offered that they had a negative reaction (15% somewhat negative and 16% very negative).

There was a similar response in a snap survey conducted for CBS News on the speech, which lasted more than 90 minutes and was the longest address to a joint session of Congress or a State of the Union address in 60 years.

The Democrats acted abhorrently last night. Talk about hard hearts.
When one constantly screams Trump is a narcissist who is going to destroy our democracy….its no wonder some people are going hysterical, it’s all fear mongering and hate. I’ve had enough of it.

Hurts my heart

:(

The Democratic Party has changed and not for the better. It’s just radical and hate filled. Trump was right when he said he could find a cure for a disease, etc. they still would not acknowledge it. I’m neither Democrat or Republican but if I see something good, I acknowledge it regardless. He was hired for looking out for the good of the American people and their interests. Not the Democratic Party and their ideological interests.

As a moderate Republican, I 100% agree.

It’s sad when the two parties running the show cannot work together. President Trump last night said it should not be this way. And it shouldn’t.

I agree completely. Those who bully and belittle President Trump should be ashamed of themselves. He’s working hard, yes, there’s room for improvement, but he’s getting his promises completed.

Lord, have mercy!

When looking up the definition of "Trump derangement syndrome" dictionaries should carry this picture:

“There will be a little disturbance, but we’re OK with that,” Trump said. “It won’t be much.”

Who is the "we're" ok with tat?
We will see how little a disturbance it is. Kind of like Covid?

John Fetterman:"A sad cavalcade of self owns and unhinged petulance. It only makes Trump look more presidential and restrained. We’re becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to—and it may not be the winning message," Democrats showed their true colors and just reinforced the fact that most Democrats are out of touch with the American people.
