  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Remember the Chairman serves at the pleasure of the President -

“I want to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family,” Trump posted on social media.
Brown’s public support of Black Lives Matter after the police killing of George Floyd had made him fodder for the administration’s wars against “wokeism” in the military. His ouster is the latest upheaval at the Pentagon, which plans to cut 5,400 civilian probationary workers starting next week and identify $50 billion in programs that could be cut next year to redirect those savings to fund Trump’s priorities.

It is interesting that Donald Trump would choose someone not a general - he is just a lt. general - but that is his prerogative.

If he cleans out the military of those who put the loyalty to the country and its constitution over loyalty to the CIC, then we will still remain a republic, just a Banana Republic.

I am glad that you stated that as a hypothetical situation. I promise you that you have nothing to worry about on this topic. I promise you that the top military officers are NOT going to put loyalty to the Commander in Chief OVER loyalty to the USA and our Constitution. However, the Commander in Chief and top-level civilian authorities in the DoD must be obeyed by the military officers as long as the orders are NOT unconstitutional. The chain of command is something that I know you fully understand. Our military is NOT GOING TO OBEY orders that are Unconstitutional.
