  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Non-Catholic Speaking - No disrepect intended...

Can I pray for all the world's Roman Catholic Christian people, because their leader is very ill? It would be an honour, if I can.

Dear Lord Jesus, please look out for all your friends who are in the Roman Catholic Church at this time, they need You to keep their faith in You strong, and Your help to trust in Your will for them.

Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and give you help,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”

In addition, Francis reportedly expressed: "certainty he won't make it this time." Politico pointed to a series of recent moves that indicate he is preparing as if his succession will take place sooner than later. "He may not die now but of course he eventually will. We all die-and he's an 88-year-old man with lung problems," one Vatican official told Politico.

Loving and Merciful God,

We come before You in prayer, lifting up Your servant, Pope Francis, in his time of need. You are the Source of all healing, and we ask You to surround him with Your loving presence, granting him strength and recovery. May Your divine grace rest upon him, restoring his health and filling him with renewed vigor to continue leading Your Church with compassion and wisdom.

“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 30:17)

We place Pope Francis into Your hands, trusting in Your eternal care. May he be comforted by the love of the Church and the prayers of all the faithful. We ask, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that his recovery be swift, and his spirit be strengthened in Your peace. May Your will be done in his life, O Lord, and may Your healing power be with him always.

We offer this prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Prayer for the health of Pope Francis

I have a suspicion that he may not be long for this world. :( He is, after all, nearly 90 years of age, and has been in frail health for several years already.

I hope he recovers and is spared any pain or discomfort, but it's in God's hands at this point.

What worries me more than anything is, when Francis does pass, what comes next? Who gets elected, and what kind of pontiff will the next pope be? Every day I see more reports of earthquakes and volcanoes all over the world; wildfires, tsunamis, asteroids and meteors coming uncomfortably close to earth, all sorts of stuff. Couple that with the upheaval in the Church with these asinine "synods" and the gay acceptance stuff and the growing division between the traditional Church of the ages and the newer "woke", "modern" Church that the Vatican seems to be trying to foster, and I can't help but wonder if we're seeing the beginnings of the Apocalypse unfolding right in front of our eyes. Is Francis the last "gradience", so to speak, between What Has Been and What's Coming Next? :( Stay tuned, I guess. We all need to pray very hard and to follow the old Boy Scout motto: "Be Prepared".

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. John 14:26-28 KJV
