• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Holy See Press Office provided the following update on Wednesday evening, 19 February:

"The Holy Father's clinical condition is stationary. The blood tests, evaluated by the medical staff, show a slight improvement, particularly in the inflammatory indices.

After breakfast, the Pope read some newspapers and then went about his work with his closest collaborators. Before lunch he received the Eucharist. In the afternoon, he received a visit from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, with whom he spent 20 minutes in private."

I think they had to try to say something positive in their press release. But I don't see a lot of positive in 'condition is stationary'.

I do think this is a quite appropriate time to pray for him. I think this is the beginning of his final exam. Mine will come soon enough. I hope a few people will pray for me when my hour draws near as many are pray for pope Francis.

I will. if this is too personal you don’t have to answer, but are you sick?

Nah. Just showing my age. My cholesterol is terrible but I likely have ten years left. I do start thinking that I shouldn't put off preparing for my final exam in salvation. I never was that good in cramming for finals.

But for now for the pope. He needs it. And for the next pope who needs the prayers even more, if that's even possible.

Be more optimistic.

Amen! Time to storm heaven with prayers for our beloved Church!

Yeah that doesn't mean it's improved, it just means it hasn't changed.
And 'reduction in inflammation' sounds positive in a minimally positive sort of way. He's really really sick. Maybe he can recover ....
