  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I notice there's no plausible alternative explanation given. I think we all understand why.
I dont think anyone plausible explanation is needed when a false premise is proposed. You've been unable to prove he's a Russian asset.

On Monday night, President Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence (DNI), former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, passed through a key Senate vote for her confirmation.

The full Senate voted 52-46 to invoke cloture and advance Gabbard’s confirmation as DNI to a final Senate vote.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Gabbard passed in a Senate Intel Committee vote last week. This came after two potential GOP holdouts who could have derailed Gabbard’s nomination, Todd Young (R-IN) and Susan Collins (R-ME), announced in the 11th hour that they’d support Gabbard.

During the Senate's cloture vote, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) confirmed that he would vote for Gabbard's confirmation. “President Trump chose Tulsi Gabbard to be his point person on foreign intelligence,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I will trust President Trump on this decision and vote for her confirmation,” Cassidy said in a statement.

Per Fox, "If the cloture motion passes, there will be 30 hours of debate on the Senate floor. Frequently, the debate between the cloture motion and the final vote is minimized in what's referred to as a 'time agreement' between Republicans and Democrats.

But with the controversial nature of Gabbard's nomination and ongoing frustrations with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its government audit, no such agreements are expected."

Vice President JD Vance, the tie-breaking vote in the case of an unlikely 50-50 vote, is currently traveling abroad to attend the AI Summit in Paris, France, and the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Gabbard is about the only nomination I'm comfortable with.

President-elect Trump announced on Wednesday that he is appointing Tulsi Gabbard to serve as director of national intelligence in his new Cabinet.
In a statement, Trump said that the former congresswoman "has fought for our Country and the Freedoms of all Americans."
"As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties - She is now a proud Republican!" the statement added. "I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength. Tulsi will make us all proud!"
Nothing says “loyalty“ quite like switching parties to “get the job”.

If I recall correctly this threshold for cloture was established when Harry Reid (D-Nev(?)), nuked the filibuster for Presidential nominations, when Obama was getting somewhat stymied in the Senate for some unknown reasons.

Gabbard and Yang both insisted on being their own persons rather than adhering to the DNC's Critical Theory ideology, so they were summarily disinvited. Gabbard said in an interview that her ejection from the party was discourteous.

Sanders got neutered. Buttigieg and Harris were already true ideologues. Biden was old enough to be controlled.

Okay I hadn’t heard that with the DNC “thought—controlling”…yes, orthodoxy can get bad in political parties.
Which one of “ours” is which, orthodox or…”reformed”?

Mitch McConnell was the lone Republican no vote, as the Senate confirmed Gabbard 52-48.
If he's going to cast a "no" vote on Gabbard, he should be calling a "no" vote on all of them.

Mitch should retire. He’s approaching Biden territory cognitively
