  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

First Amendment rights or did Musk and his Gen. Z helpers cancel that?
Did you even read the article? Do you understand the laws regarding legal versus illegal demonstrations and protests? Is Elon Musk paying off the police officers in Phoenix, Arizona?

The anti-deportation protests have spread from Los Angeles to Phoenix, Arizona.
Drugs come into the country through Phoenix. There is a very rough criminal element there. The best thing they can do for this country is to send them back to Mexico. Drugs cost $2 in Columbia, $20 in Phoenix and $50 in Anchorage for a day.

It's interesting that the article complained of protesters marching under the Mexican flag. The use of it exactly parallels the use of the Confederate flag by protesters in the southern states.

The various versions of the Confederate flags are American flags. Can the same thing be said for flags representing Mexico?

Confederate flags are flags of a nation which once claimed sovereignty over the southern states which was denied them by war. Mexican flags are the flags of a nation which actually enjoyed sovereignty over Arizona, which was taken from it by war.

I don't want to go off topic. However, it is well known that the vast majority of Southern Americans who like the Confederate flag are not advocating a return back to the USA as we were before the Civil War.
Why are protestors and demonstrators flying the Mexican flag as they protest against the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants?

The Confederate flag is an embarrassment. Because the high school's mascot was the Rebel, there were cringeworthy Confederate flag front license plates on half the cars in town. I was embarrassed to have relatives visit. About ten years ago the Board of Education had the courage and common sense to put the rebel to rest--amid huge protests and attempts to replace the Board members.

My son's college friend told him, "You'll know when you left Missouri when you see all the Confederate flags!" For shame!

The Mexican flag never represented slavery. It never represented insurrection and secession. It never represented Charlottesville. It never represented Proud Boys.

Would you want to display a flag that represented racism, slavery, insurrection and secession? I'd prefer the Mexican flag any day.

You'd have to ask them, but I doubt very much if they want a return of Arizona to Mexico. Most probably I would say it is being used as a heritage pride flag, just as Confederate flags are used in the South.

Yes, of course.
Canada’s flag is an “American” flag too.

The anti-deportation protests have spread from Los Angeles to Phoenix, Arizona.

I liked his conclusionary statement from the article:

"In the end, any true constitutional republic can and must tolerate peaceful protests.

But must it quietly endure riots on behalf of violent illegal immigrant criminals, carried out by protesters waving a foreign flag, organized and/or funded by outside agitators and Heaven knows what sinister government-aligned entity — all while those protesters march in menacing fashion toward police?

No sovereign citizens must tolerate behavior of that kind."

We are getting criminals out of this country who have no respect for our nation or it's people (shown in their ability to sneak into our country to steal, rob, rape, and murder with impunity)

Anyone who supports the continuation of foreign criminals raping and pillaging their way through this country, openly shown in their protesting the efforts the AMERICAN PEOPLE are taking to stop it and waiving the flags of terrorist supporting nations because it just breaks their little hearts the murder and pillaging of Americans might be slowed down somewhat through the enforcement of our nations laws, should probably get deported too. We won't, but we probably should.

Arizona has been passing laws and taking action on immigration.
One ballot proposition 314, allowing local police to arrest foriegn nationals passed by 62%
That is with a significant share of voters being Hispanic. 31% of the population is Hispanic.

Unlike the Confederacy, Mexico still exists and if they like it so much that they carry the flag then they should go there

Many of them are descendants of families (of Spanish and Native American blood) who have lived in Arizona since before a scruffy handful of religious extremists landed at Plymouth Rock.
