  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Age of consent is 16yrs old in many states, and 18 in others, 19 would be considered adult, sounds good but will it pass the SCOTUS test?

The Federal Govt not sponsoring or paying is a different subject
I’m not sure why 19 was the number chosen and not 18. As for 16, that’s nonsense. Sex with an older person is not the same life changing event as a sex change.

It's my understanding that "age of consent" is a legal foundation for a person to have control over their own decision making in general?

31 States in America presently have age of consent at 16yrs old?

The headline does not match the quotation.

Judging from the quotation:

Inasmuch as federal support of gender transitions was never (to my knowledge) passed by Congress in the first place, it had been only Executive Branch policy to provide federal support in the first place (such as in the military). This EO doesn't appear to impact state policies, but does assert that the federal government would support legislation to the same effect...presumably within the federal jurisdiction.

Age of consent is age to consent to sexual activity with any older person. Below the age of consent the person is deemed mentally underdeveloped to consent to sex.

Age of majority, age of consent, driving age, drinking age, can vary place to place.

Age of consent has to do with decisions that aren't life changing. If you decide to have sex with some and you're
at the age of consent, but change your mind later in life, you can.

Transgender procedures are permanent. You can't regrow body parts that were amputated to change your gender.
