  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now why would a creationist scientist blame the test method when 6 year old samples were tested when under ideal conditions the lower age limit is 20,000 years?????
My question was meant to be rhetorical.
Here's a quote from a non-creationist scientist. He points to the heart of the matter.
And the non creationist scientist was spot on.
As I have mentioned on numerous occasions religion and science don't mix and neither does atheism and science as the existence or non existence of God is unfalsifiable in science.
It seems to me, Young Earth Creation scientists place the opposite limitation on their science. Their interpretation of the evidence must not conflict with the Word of God. The interpretations from each group result directly from their starting (stated and unstated) assumptions. Secular scientists play their role very well. Some YECs play their role very well also. Some from both sides try to walk somewhere down the middle for one reason or another.

I’ll leave your forum now. Thanks for helping me learn about your science.
On the contrary the evidence must not conflict with your interpretation of the Bible, what makes your interpretation for the creation date superior to that of Isaac Newton. Newton was every bit of a creationist as well although he believed in Arianism which was considered heretical.
When asked what caused gravity which is still relevant to this day Newton replied he didn't know, making references to the Bible or "God is responsible" is not an answer.
Newton was being a good scientist who is an individual that does not allow their personal beliefs or the lack of them to impact on their works.

Your video provides a snapshot of what happens when religion and science are mixed, the question of decay rates being different in the past is not born out of scientific enquiry by 'YEC scientists' but a very poor substitute for the lack of evidence of a 6000 year old earth.
The expert on mass spectrometry posing as a 'YEC scientist' offered the explanation decay rates could change many orders of magnitudes under extreme temperature conditions which is so profoundly wrong.

This is not science by any stretch of the imagination.

Hmm .. that seems like a rather odd reason?
What do you think I meant that comment?
I mean, who am I speaking with here?
Is it you .. or is it the/some 'other' beyond yourself?

No, you're just speaking with a run of the mill, generally educated person. You are familiar with those sorts of people, aren't you? :dontcare:

Nah. Probably not anymore. The older I get, the more I realize what little I have left. It's all fading now.

Excuse me now while I go find a dark corner and sulk.
