  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evangelist Franklin Graham predicts that the abortion issue will not necessarily be a significant "priority" for President Donald Trump in his second administration but hopes the president would fulfill his promise to bring the U.S. into a "golden age."

The 72-year-old son of the late Billy Graham and CEO of the Evangelical aid group Samaritan's Purse surmised that Trump feels as if he has done all that he can to address abortion at the national level by appointing the U.S. Supreme Court justices that ultimately voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The court's June 2022 ruling decentralized the issue and restored regulatory authority over abortion to the states.

I don't think abortion was anything more than an attempt to build a coalition for the president.
Even his judicial appointees were mainly chosen to deregulate and grant him immunity.
But he kept his promise to pro-lifers, and should now focus on making sure those tiny lives saved will grow up with adequate food, shelter, and healthcare.
Please support those priorities in your political advocacy.

Yes. Everyone's priorities should be that people are fed, sheltered, and cared for. I'm not denying that, Fantine.

Trump further opposes a federal ban on abortion, and on any prohibition against delivering the abortion pill through the mail.

What a surprise.

As he's betraying the pro-lifers, expect he'll do the same with those coveted "evangelicals" he proudly professes to have in his hip pocket.

Trump is using his brain on the abortion issue. It is very divisive given the tenure it had. It does belong in the states to reflect their own cultures & that is the best we can do as a nation. To put any federal law forward would of course take 60 votes. Any federal law would not be in the middle but skewed b/c lawmakers are thinking of large donors.

He said long before he was elected the issue should be decided by each state. So it’s not a shocker to me.

It’s too bad.

I would love to see this barbaric practice banned once and for all!

Ugh

A Harris presidency would have been a disaster.

Harris should ask herself, “Would God be proud of me?”
