• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone. I'm disabled due to daily pain and sickness caused by a traumatic childhood. I have CPTSD that includes panic disorder, major depression, chronic fatigue, and nerve pain. I should be dead by now, but God comes through enough to keep me alive. Not to heal me, just to keep me going. I know He loves me and He reached out to me to save me. When I think He doesn't care for me I remember the moments we've shared together. I can't pray or read the Bible because it's too painful. I just cling to my memories of the good times.

Secular trauma support groups are awful. They are very anti-christian. I was looking for Christian trauma support which is how I came here.

Welcome! I am sorry you are going through so much pain.

Its seems that you are able to type so praise God- maybe you can listen to videos of scripture since you can't read the bible. You can pray in your mind, you don't have to kneel down if you are unable, but its important to pray and communicate with God. He understands our circumstances.

Here's some videos maybe you can listen to on the priority of prayer.

Some audio bible you can listen to.

God bless ! I will pray for you.

Welcome. I went through CPTSD myself, fortunately without the disability and chronic pain component, but by all rights I should be dead too, either from suicide or starvation. Those of us who survive that disease in Christ seem to be a witness to God’s ability to protect and preserve.

I’m quite sorry you had to go through that. What helped me in my journey through trauma was going to a series of trauma support groups hosted by a local church in my area. I particularly benefited from the “Moving Through Trauma” course hosted by Share The Struggle, which is an online video class:

Both Share The Struggle and Reboot Recovery provide online video for trauma support which churches in my area use to host trauma support groups. My friend liked Reboot Recovery better, which is here: Trauma REBOOT Even if you can’t get to a group, it might help to watch the videos and go through the classes.

I also benefited from Healing What’s Hidden: Practical Steps to Overcoming Trauma by Evan Owens and Jimmy Owens and the works of Dr. Henry Cloud. There has been a Christian response to trauma out there and I hope this helps you in some way.

Here on CF, you’ve probably found our Trauma, PTSD & Dissociation forum section, but we also have the Prayer Wall to support our community in prayer and some sections down in physical health for disability and chronic pain. I pray that the Lord Jesus would comfort you, as the God of all comfort, and provide relief for suffering.

Thank you for the resources. I do try to pray when I can.
Welcome to CF
Suggest going to the Prayer wall myself.
God is Still in the business of healing.

Thanks for those websites! They look interesting. Once we get out of the holidays I can get some funds to pursue this. I'm dependent on my spouse for funds.

Nah... Your dependant upon God. Your husband just writes the checks, so to speak.

Welcome to the site! Plenty of threads to jump in and explore! God bless you.
