In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The man in control of the Utah-based rightwing militia Oath Keepers USA, a recent spinoff of the national organization first established by Stewart Rhodes in 2009, is a former Las Vegas metropolitan police department (LVMPD) homicide detective who left the force in acrimony after advocating “race war”.

According to reporting from the Las Vegas Sun, KNPR and Raw Story, Kinch had been serving in the department’s elite repeat offenders program (ROP) since 2009. In December 2013, however, fellow officers discovered inflammatory Facebook posts, including one that read: “Let’s just get this over! Race war, Civil, Revolution? Bring it! I’m about as fed up as a man (American, Christian, White, Heterosexual) can get!”

Conservatives. Always with the identity politics.

The writer obviously thought that those “things about him” gave him some sort of privilege to have things his “American, Christian, White, Heterosexual [male]” own way, or go to “war” to get them!

Socratic debating is a time honored tradition but is more than “just asking questions”.

Being "primed" doesn't mean he is invoking some imagined "privilege" to get his way.

His noticing the divisive rhetoric of the Left - their calls for conflict based on race and other civil issues - and calling them out on it is not him declaring that he has any sort of "privilege".

It would appear that we are looking at the same evidence but coming to vastly different conclusions about a person who seemed (in 2013), irked that “male Christian white heterosexual“ Americans had to share rights with folk what aren’t, to the point that he was ready for “war”.

We don’t need a war to know that each person holds the exact same rights as any other person, (while we are free to become miffed at such truth, it doesn’t change that truth).
