  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Happily. Though it concerns me that you aren't aware - it has been talked about quite a bit.

Have you ever discussed Russia or Syria with them?

What do you base this assertion on?
Personally, I am not seeing any issues with what Tulsi said. I don't see what the controversy is.

The object of that sentence is "statements that Tulsi Gabbard has made"
Well, considering the fact that the United States lied and attempted to cover up the source of COVID-19, it seems reasonable to suspect the United States would lie about biolabs in Ukraine. Also, acknowledging when a dictator does something right, like bombing ISIS, does not make you a sympathizer. It makes you open minded and honest. So, I am not buying into ancient propaganda started by Hillary Clinton intended to smear her political opponents, and neither should anyone else.

Gabbard is not part of the Democratic "fundamental transformation" gang; therefore, she must be cancelled.

Are you aware of what is missing in that article? Any mention of Tulsi Gabbard - hmmm....
Are you aware of the claim that I posted that article in response to?

The poll isn't "mine". Did you even bother to read the rest of the article?

Yes, I did, it was a lot of Russia Russia Russia, people like Russia more because Trump said something nice once. Then some Russia Russia Russia, there's sympathizers in the military.

A bit like McCarthyism really but coming from actual Russian sympathizers (in action), it really is nonsensical.

At the time, I thought that reaching out to Russia was a good step towards global peace. In retrospect, I think his treatment of Putin in particular was naive.

As a thousand warners warned it would be.

I have not called Tulsi Gabbard "unamerican".

What is your point then - if not to insinuate via propaganda put out by this administration that she and others in the military are Russian sympathizers and that we are somehow bombarded by Russian propaganda.

Not from what I've seem

There are apparently rumors going around social media about Christmas being cancelled, but I've not found anything to substantiate them. It's something that we should certainly keep an eye on, but so far the rebels seem to be honoring their commitment to religious freedom. Assad, for all his claims of being a defender of Christians, didn't exactly have the best track record there either.

While I pray those reports are true, as far as the designated global terrorist group HTS, this was them just a few days ago.

He has also publicly stated that he would govern according to Sharia law so forgive me when I am inclined to believe the reporting that says they are indeed imposing the rules of Sharia law on at least some of the people living in Syria.

In conclusion - I would prefer not supporting designated global terrorists taking over countries myself.

And I very much don't appreciate my government funding terrorists in my name. This is our shame because they do it in our name, and people think we are evil.

A bit like your comment here, then. Whenever you start going on about "Russia, Russia, Russia" stuff, it gets really hard to follow your point.
As a thousand warners warned it would be.
In retrospect, they were correct. But, unlike Obama, I don't have a time machine, so there's nothing I can do to change the past. However, I can advocate against people making the same mistakes this time around.
What is your point then - if not to insinuate via propaganda put out by this administration that she and others in the military are Russian sympathizers and that we are somehow bombarded by Russian propaganda.
I wouldn't say that someone sympathizing with Russia (or any other foreign country) is "unamerican". Freedom of speech is, after all, a fundamental American right. However, it's concerning if the person in charge of all of our intelligence agencies is repeating another country's propaganda - especially if that country is one of our primary geopolitical adversaries who has been directing significant resources towards steering public opinion in the US.
While I pray those reports are true, as far as the designated global terrorist group HTS, this was them just a few days ago.

It's not clear who the people in that video are, and regardless, declaring a march on Jerusalem is not "cancelling Christmas".
He has also publicly stated that he would govern according to Sharia law so forgive me when I am inclined to believe the reporting that says they are indeed imposing the rules of Sharia law on at least some of the people living in Syria.
Syria under Assad also had Sharia courts for religious and personal disputes. Again, this is something to keep an eye on.
In conclusion - I would prefer not supporting designated global terrorists taking over countries myself.

And I very much don't appreciate my government funding terrorists in my name. This is our shame because they do it in our name, and people think we are evil.
You'd rather we prop up a regime that was killing hundreds of thousands of its own citizens and dumping them in mass graves? HTS wouldn't have been my first choice to take over from Assad, but Assad had to go.

The only person propping up murderous regimes is Jow Biden.

What's the propaganda she is accused of repeating again. I ve lost track of the complaints.

To be replaced by something worse? Biden had to go to, but it seems you have a problem accepting that Trump succeeded him. Why don't you have as big of problem with HTS taking over? Seems you may be out of balance here.

Weird response given the facts showing the actual reasons posted on the previous page. But this and similar responses show us how sincere the requests for evidence are.

I was thinking the same thing. Anybody who says anything about Russia that isn't extremely negative is somehow a Russian asset or propagandist. And therefore shouldn't be considered for anything.

From the VOA article:
"Overall, the survey found 28% of Americans identified Russia as an ally, up from 19% the previous year."

Do you not find the survey credible? If so, why?
I find it old and out of date.
