  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“Since 2015, Dr. Gorka has been a tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement,” the president-elect wrote.
Gorka has a lot of experience, just the person needed for a tough job.

Wasn't he arrested for collaborating with Rudy Giuliani? Could he have been the one who told all on a Rachel Maddiw special? I think he might have turned away from the dark side?
What I know isn't good. Could an objective poster fill in the facts?

Per the thread title, this wouldn't be another example of right wing identity politics, would it? And given the second post, I'd hate to think that sort of thing was being used to cover up objectively bad information about the guy.
He should fit very well into this administration.

Meaning maybe he'll stick around more than a few months? Or am I being overly optimistic given the history?
Do you know what caused him to leave last time?

There was a frank opinion column in the New York Times which well applies:

"For liberals like me, it may be tempting to attribute the collapse of the various cases against him to convenient explanations of process or personnel. The more uncomfortable truth is that our search for political salvation primarily through the law has backfired. To oppose Mr. Trump in his second term, liberals must learn the lesson of this defeat, which is that there is no alternative to persuading our fellow citizens of our beliefs"

Definitely the wrong way to seek "political salvation." Of course, many people are rightly convinced that he is a criminal who ought to be brought to justice whether it brings political salvation or not.

Apparently, last time Gorka had his security clearance revoked by Gen. Kelly.

Well, that was back in 2017. Surely there will be no problem with his membership in the Historical Vitézi Rend or his naturalization application or criminal investigations this time round! Excellent choice for the counter-terrorism job!

The fast move to totalitarianism is alarming me, and I feel like I am drowning in a swamp of conservative lies. I'm taking a mental health break for a few days.
