  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Troubling Trend Continues

The Department of Defense’s recent report on military suicides reveals a disturbing continuation of a long-term trend. In 2023, the number of suicides among active-duty military personnel rose to 363, up from 331 in 2022. Definitely praying for our men and women in the armed services.

I pray if there's one impact Trump can make it would be here, with our military. We need an increase in morale and an increase in assistance they need across the board.

Let them know they aren't alone, and there's a nation of people who love them and are behind them every step.

What do you think is the cause @Vambram?
IMO, there are probably multiple causes leading to an increase in suicides by military Servicemembers. But, if we can have better morale, closer and/or better friendships amongst each other along with increases of emphasis about the importance of having real faith in the Lord; then I believe we will be able to reduce the amount of suicide in the military.
