  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

'This will truly be the golden age of America,' says president-elect

Former President Donald Trump vowed to “help our country heal” as he prepares to take office as the 47th president of the United States.

Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election early Wednesday morning. Unofficial results show Trump securing 277 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 electoral vote threshold required to clinch the presidency.

Addressing his supporters in a victory speech, Trump described his presidential campaign as “the greatest political movement of all time.” Insisting that “there’s never been anything like this in this country,” the former president predicted that the movement was “going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal.”

Continued below.

We should pray for healing, peace, and our leaders. I pray for President Biden and will do so for President Trump next year. As Christians, we must entrust our leaders to the Lord.

However, we should not believe that any president can heal our country or the world. True peace and healing come only from Christ.

A concerning trend in American Christianity is the belief that a political party or leader can bring change. Only Jesus Christ can truly transform lives.

I know if someone was elected I was fearful of or outright despised as seems to be the case here, I would want to be proven wrong. Let’s pray this term is a pleasant surprise and stop the gloom and doom predictions. We want to heal don’t we? One day at a time folks. One day at a time. If Harris were elected I’d say the same. We’ve got to get out of this Trump is the harbinger to the end of America as we know it. God is still on His throne. Us here? We do the best we can for the things we advocate for no matter who the president is. Disagree or not. We can do that because we live in America. When we can’t is the time to fear.
True. If we're lucky, his promises will be nothing Burgers.
Like his forgotten "Wall"
But... those that think tarriffs are a good idea, which will hit the consumers wallet.

Good day,

Healing from/of what?

I see the coalition of Americans that he was able to bring together and the historical nature of his win.

Is a testament to the strength of our republic and just how united the majority of Americans truly are as Americans.

4/10ths of 1% isn't big. Because of post-COVID no-one's-fault inflation, all over the world leaders were deposed. In the lucky countries, liberals replaced conservatives. What a joyful sense of redemption they must have felt.
And then there's us.
Those voters aren't going to be with you long...and from what I've seen of his appointees, they might jump ship in 3 months.
I agree with the president elect we are in a state if emergency, but I believe he's the cause. (Along with 49.8% of voters.)
I don't think he wants to heal the country. He wants to silence the country--abd you know what that leads to.
