  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There are plenty of non-propaganda outlets that can produce such material.

So the rest of the world, which hasn't been caught with state sponsored doping programs or illegally invaded their neighbours, can compete in international sports.
Lance Armstrong was doping.

From time to time the other major powers do that sort of thing.

If you’re going to ban Russia from the Olympics,

why have the Olympics?
If you’re going to ban Russia from the Olympics,

why have the Olympics?
Just because Russia is awful and a rogue nation doesn’t mean other, better nations can’t come together in competition and camaraderie.

The US government doesn't run the US Olympic team and Armstrong was not on the US Olympic team, he was a professional bike racer.

Is North Korea allowed in the Olympics?
North Korea has participated in most Olympics since 1972 including 2024 in Paris. (They got 6 medals this year.) They skipped the 2020 Summer games due to COVID. (As an aside, do you know how the search bar works? Either the one in your browser or the one on the Wikipedia home page. Most of your questions are answered by a couple minutes of searching the web, if that.)

Lance Armstrong was doping.

And got banned for life as a result, and had various race wins and titles stripped from him.

Perhaps you support that for the Olympics?

From time to time the other major powers do that sort of thing.

Possibly. There's good evidence of state sponsored doping programs across much of the former Soviet bloc - West Germany, Bulgaria and Ukraine for strength based sports, for instance.

The US athletics tems in the 1980s is another case, although that appears to be an example of deliberate institutional blindness, rather than a state-supported effort.

There are some more recent examples - Nigeria and China have both faced allegations of systematic doping.

Having been a serious amateur triathlete during the early 2000s, PED use makes me furious. Both in the unfairness of the competition and what some of the long term side effects are for users.

I'm in favour of retaining samples for 12 years, with updated testing performed every 6 years. If better blood/urinalysis finds illegal PED use, then athletes should be retroactively stripped of medals/titles/places.

Why suggest that such limits be placed on what RT says? Are you an American who has lost your belief in freedom of protected political speech under the first Amendment?

The obvious point is that YouTube is owned by Google

The same Google that Russia fined $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 a couple of weeks ago, which is more than the total GDP of... The entire planet, for all recorded time.

I can't help but think that the Russian government channels aren't going to be coming back before the next ice ago.
