  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Pray for my dad please.

My dad fell 3 times last week and my siblings decided to put him in a home. He fought against it to begin with, but has come to accept it. I think he's scared on the one hand, but hoping to be less lonely on the other.
Please pray that he has a peaceful transition to this home. I'm upset because the home is pretty far out for me to drive, making it harder to see him.
Pray I find peace in this situation too as I don't really want him to move.

Thanks!

Is he settled in yet Chrystal?
He was really angry at first because he was expected to join others at the dinner table and not eat in his room. But, I think he finally realized that he didn't have to money to maintain the aids he was paying for. He really had no choice. I think he'll be ok once he gets to know the other people at the house. There are 6 patients and 3 aids. So the ratio is good.

I hope and pray that he'll be OK. The key is the loneliness aspect - if he can stave off those feelings, it can make a world of difference. I'm the last person to even say such a thing though :| My dad doesn't want to interact with the other people there because "they're not me." I don't want to be too hard on him right now because it's an emotional time for all of us. However, you're in a better position than I am - at the beginning of February my dad has to come back home whether he is able to or not, and I can't don't think I can accommodate the kind of help he's getting now.

My dad was falling too much. Between the money and the falls, there was just no way he could stay home. I hope you work out something for your dad!

My dad was falling more frequently too. His ability to stand had also been deteriorating and it culminated into him giving way to the floor the other day. I'm worried that if PT (physical therapy) can't rejuvenate him by February 4 (the target date) then I can't keep him at home. But Medicaid will take "everything" away from me. His bank accounts will be the first things targeted, and I'm temporarily using them (my dad is letting me) while he's away from home. It's a mess :|
