  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The great thing about this saga is that anyone wanting to claim (without evidence) fraud and name and target election workers like this, will be punished severely. This should make anyone think twice before actively participating in another BIG LIE in order to incite the public into violence to try and take over government again.

I believe that the fact that the financial judgment is extremely exorbitant and is 3x more than the defendants financial assets don't bother liberals at all. I believe that liberals are celebrating the judgment and they want the defendant to be financially ruined forever. That is a sad mindset in my opinion.
It doesn't bother me in the slightest. If he'd have apologised to the women and shown some remorse then I might agree with you. But the fact that he kept on doing what he'd been charged with after he'd been found guilty of doing it...well, the guy deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

I think this definitely factored into the jury's decision to impose such a heavy punitive judgement. It sends a message that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated, period.

It was the biases of leftist judges and liberals on the jury that I am blaming for an extremely exorbitant dollar judgment that is at least 3x above the defendants financial net worth. If you can not see how extremely biased that is, then you are telling me a lot about yourself.
I dunno. I'm imagining a guy living in an apartment with a net worth of 20,000 who maliciously defames someone, causing them to verifiably lose a million dollars. What's an unbiased judgment in a case like that? Should we always limit judgments to net worth? Somehow I have a hard time imagining Republicans supporting that.

I have some concerns over the amount that Giuliani has to pay. But considering the relentless, malicious defamation, I have a hard time criticizing the jury.

If you truly believe that judges in America ain't partisan, then I believe that you ain't been paying much attention to what America's so-called justice system has been doing against conservatives these last few years.

I'd say don't try to steal an election with zero evidence. Then don't defame honest poll workers by accusing them of commiting criminal acts. Again, with zero evidence. And then, after been found guilty of defamation, don't repeat the accusations.

But if you do all that, you won't get blamed by the faithful. It'll be the judge's fault. Or the jury's. Or the Administration. Or the AG. Or the Democrats. Or liberals. Anyone at all except the guy who was convicted. Because if you're doing Trumps bidding you cannot be doing anything wrong.

Rudy Giuliani’s apartment was emptied weeks ago, victims in defamation case say

Freeman and Moss’ lawyers had gone to the apartment last week to figure out how best to move the luxury items inside that should now be theirs, per the judge’s order, into storage.

But the apartment was “substantially empty,” Nathan wrote. The expensive furniture Giuliani had used in real estate photos of the property earlier this year was moved out four weeks ago, he said.

Judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani to come to court later this week.

Has anyone checked the Four Seasons?

He got targeted by a liberal leftist "justice system" and the leftist liberal judge is showing his extreme bias. This is more evidence and proof of the weaponization of justice and the lawfare waged against Donald Trump and his friends and allies.

Actually, no. The issue you have here is that Giuliani admitted that he did what he was accused of, though he tried to use legal trickery to claim that he didn't defame the women.

If you want to argue that it wasn't the verdict but the size of the damages, then that also largely falls on Giuliani as he has consistently tried to hide what assets he owns and, worse, appears to have taken steps to hide his true net worth. To be fair, he wasn't initially hiding assets from this particular court but from his wife in divorce court, and because he was hiding his assets there he had to keep hiding them here. As such, the court and jurors had to rely on estimates of what Giuliani's net worth was and, since Giuliani refused to say what they are, the courts are typically going to assume the net worth is on the high side of the estimates (why would someone continue to hide their assets if they were lower than what the court is assuming?).

While it may not appear to be "fair," the facts do not support any sort of "law fair," rather just Giuliani bringing it all on himself.
