CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your provided NPR clip states Trump will vote in favor of abortion rights a "Lie" he voted "NO" against the amendment that would add the words "No Law Shall" as you have been shown
I Strongly disagree with Trumps politically motivated statement we need more than 6 weeks, he will or has voted "NO" to the amendment that upholds restricting abortions after 6 week thats presently by legislated law
A "YES" vote adding the words "NO LAW SHALL" would block the State legislatures laws regarding abortions being restricted after 6 weeks

When asked explicitly, "so you'll vote in favor of the amendment?", Trump seemed to affirm that he would.

As far as I know, and he's changed his position multiple times, this is the current one. But who knows which way the wind will blow tomorrow. As you said, he says things not because he believes them but because they are politically expedient. I'm at least glad that you now realise that.

Don't forget your non response on his "NO" vote for amendment
As I stated he voted "No" on amendment, his actions are in keeping restrictions on abortion after 6 weeks, actions speak louder than words

Exactly what I've been telling you. He is for abortion. The timing of restrictions is just different to some other people. And I asked way back in this thread...do you support his position that abortions can be performed for at least the first 6 weeks?

I believe his present statements surround politics and election, he appointed 3 conservative Supreme Court Justices that recently upended Roe V Wade
Trumps first action in office in Jan 2021 was the reinstatement of the Regan (Mexico City Policy) stopping federal funding to NGO's that provided abortion related services
He recently openly stated that he's voting "NO" on Florida's constitutional amendment, Trump opposes the liberal agenda to remove abortion restrictions after 6 weeks
I don't find it out of place for the liberals to attack Trump, the election is Nov 5th a few days away as the progressive liberal Kamala Harris trails in the polls, mud slinging would be an understatement, it's about politics and election
I feel I have answered your question throughly, his statements regarding abortion restrictions and 6 weeks is nothing more than politics and the Nov 5th election, his actions mentioned above speak louder than his recent politically driven words, yes I strongly disagree with his words recently spoken regarding Florida's 6 week ban

Everything he says is because he feels it's politically expedient. If he thought he'd get more votes by extending the limit to 6 months then he's do it. I don't understand how you can trust someone like that.
