CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You know there some things the left and the right all agreed on, that justice should be blind, and that there shouldn't be political prosecutions. I think this thread is pretty good evidence that that's not true anymore. I think it's been that way for a while now.

The conversation was related to executive privilege, the constitution, constitutional sheriffs. Bannon is related to J6. Topics have complex chains of related topics. If someone says something related then it’s not just one topic. Otherwise you can never have any depth of analysis

Those who somehow believe that political prosecution only recently started and that somehow this thread has exposed it has very little knowledge of America's political past. Justice is not blind, and never has been.

I believe Trump pardoned him for his role in scamming Trump's supporters. Bannon had also described Donald Trump Jr. as "treasonous" for his contracts with Russian agents, and described Ivanka Trump as "dumb as a brick."
But loyalty as Trump sees it, is entirely one-way.

Justice April Newbauer's decision to deny Bannon's motion to dismiss the charges paves the way for a trial set to start on Dec. 9, just six weeks after he is scheduled to be released from federal prison. Bannon is serving a four-month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena.In his lawyers' motion to dismiss, filed on Dec. 6, 2023, they argued that Bannon transferred some funds to entities Kolfage controlled to reimburse him for reasonable expenses.
"Prospective donors to WeBuildTheWall did not care whether Kolfage or his entities received a small percentage of their donations," his lawyers wrote.
Certainly LostMarbels felt that way, but I'm not sure most donors found it acceptable to be defrauded.
