  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Embracing repentance is essential to truly grasping the depth and richness of the gospel. Many of us have a zeal for God but lack knowledge. If we got our basics from the world and added to that from the Word without repentance, we wouldn't have the right definitions and the bigger picture.

That is eating and drinking His body unworthily which is eating and drinking damnation to yourself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 1 Corinthians 11. If one of you eats the Lord's bread or drinks from his cup in a way that dishonors him, you are guilty of sin against the Lord's body and blood.

“That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died” 1 Corinthians 11. But the purpose of this judgment is not our final damnation; If we go to His Table and are disciplined by God, it is because we may not be condemned along with the world.

Good work on these threads!

If we got our basics from the world and added to that from the Word without repentance, we wouldn't have the right definitions and the bigger picture.

Yeah, ‘saying 5 things nice to your neighbor’ doesn’t work! Has to be from the heart. Genuineness! Doing it just to do it, checking it off a box, a ritual. Be motivated by the Lord’s working in you! Not motivated by guilt, legalism, ‘because you want to be a good person’, or because 'you're supposed to.' but because of joy in the Lord!

Also, going to the Table, important! Attitude towards it important as going itself!

Hallelujah! He is Risen!
I've been working on thinking that saying. Not just a Easter / Resurrection Sunday saying. If he's risen on Easter / Resurrection Sunday, he's rise now. Crucified for sin, but more than that, rose again, tomb is empty! Host of implications!
