Received the biggest scare in my life 3 weeks ago, had chest pains and was not feeling well getting dizzy. I was pulling on a wrench when it happened having the chest pains right away. Stopped and was feeling dizzy and luckily a co worker of mine saw it. He saw that I needed to go to the ER and did take me there. Boss agreed and we both punched out first. Got me there and I was taken in right away saying chest pains put in a wheelchair. Did all the tests and doctors said two stents finding two arteries plugged up. They put in two stents the next day. Feeling a whole lot better now and recovery is going great. Cardiologist said everything looks good. Heart problems are a history on my late dad's side of the family. His dad dropped dead of a heart attack at age 50,he was a heavy smoker and would not have it checked out. Dad died in his sleep from a heart attack. My oldest brother had stents put in last year and my second oldest brother had a hole in his heart repaired at age 35. My first older brother, no wake up call from this. He does smoke and his doctor is on his butt to quit smoking, smokes a pack a day. Plus he got me sick twice, I have an allergy to cigarette smoke. We are going to have a serious talk with him on this and get to him this heart problem history is no joke at all.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think exercise is helpful, too. But you can check with Dr to be sure.

I had a problem with stress and this is one thing that caused it. Learning to control it now and doing good on this so far
